6) Solomon Strader West Ranch (SS) 200 Meters/400 Meters
Some of the top track athletes in California continue their seasons past the state meet and in some instances they are able to post even better marks than they did during the regular season. One such instance occurred last year at the Brooks PR Invitational. West Ranch's Solomon Strader had a fantastic junior campaign that included a 21.45 200m best at his league's final and an even more impressive 2nd place finish at the SS Division I final. He also recorded a time of 47.10 in the 400m at the CA state meet which resulted in a 3rd place finish. His best time of 47.04 took place at the SS Masters meet which resulted in a victory in that event. Following the state meet, Strader ran at the Brooks PR Invitational and finished in 2nd place behind Emmanuel Bynum of Tennessee in a time of 46.59. That time made him the 11th fastest quarter-miler in the nation as well as the pre-season favorite to win that event this coming season.
