Recapping how Northern Section athletes did at the CIF-State Meet, May 24-25 at Buchanan HS in Clovis.
Boys
- Chico senior Charlie Giannini, in his second consecutive trip in the 3200, placed 17th in a PR of 9:19.83 (a year-over-year improvement at State from 9:24.50).
- Enterprise junior Nick Torres was 26th in 1600m qualifying (4:29.30).
- Pleasant Valley junior Dante Jackson was 25th in qualifying for the 100 meters (11.09/2.5) and 23rd in the 200, running a season-best 22.54 (0.8).
- University Prep senior Quinn Danner-Bocks was 25th in qualifying in the 400, running 51.04.
- Foothill senior Dylan Northrup ran in qualifying for both hurdles, placing 15th in the 110s (14.68/1.6) and 22nd in the 300s (40.44).
- La Plumas senior Jeramiah Havens was 16th in qualifying in the triple jump, hitting a 44-07.00 (1.1) personal best.
- West Valley senior Payton Fuller was 20th in the discus (147-06).
- Wheatland senior Michael Sappa was 26th in the shot put (46-03.75).
- The Paradise boys 4x400 relay team of Jared MacKay, Patrick Roehling, Gabriel Price and Jacob Weldon placed 16th in qualifying (3:21.20).

Girls
- Foothill junior Zoey Bishop was 25th in the 200 (26.62/1.1) and 28th in the 400 (1:02.14).
- Bishop's teammate, senior Kira Porzio, was 19th in qualifying in the high jump (5-02).
- Etna senior Teagan Ford also qualified in the high jump, and placed 25th (5-02).
- Chico junior Hailey Fune, was 11th in the 100 hurdles, running a personal best of 14.58 (0.9), which was .12 off the ninth qualifying spot for the final. It also is a Northern Section record, bettering the the previous NS standard of 14.66 set by Alyssa Christensen of West Valley in 2007.
- Fune also qualified in the triple jump, where she was 25th (32-07.75).
- University Prep had two qualifiers in sophomore Grace Gaddy, who was 27th in the 1600 (5:16.90) and senior Lexi Jones, who was 22nd in the long jump (17-02.50/0.7).
- Yreka junior Alisha McFall was 25th in 100 meter qualifying (12.88/0.7).
- West Valley junior Maddie Steele was 24th in 300 hurdles qualifying (52.65)
- Hamilton City senior Alicia Murillo (pictured) placed 26th in the 3200 final (11.37.77).
