The 5 Toughest CA Girls State Records

Boys high school track and field goes back to the turn of the century -- the 20^th century -- while organized girls high school track was a direct result of Title IX, starting in 1974. As such, the girls' records don't go back as far. Add in the factor that girls track in California really has no peer and selecting just five events is cheating others -- some of whom are among the nation's best. Again, we're using Jack Shepard's guide primarily along with the National Federation record book.
