SECOND TEAM

Devyn Candaele (Vista Murrieta/SS) -- Placed sixth at State in Division I, posting a 5K PR of 17:43.20, helping Vista Murrieta to a close second to league rival Great Oak in the team competition while earning a bid to compete at Nike Cross Nationals. Placed 51st overall at NXN as Vista Murrieta was CA's top team at the meet. MileSplitCA All-State Freshman first team selection.

Maddie Coles (Claremont/SS) -- Coles won the Southern Section Division II title, placed second at State and help lead Claremont to a third consecutive title in each and a second consecutive trip to NXN. MileSplitCA All-State Freshman first team selection.

Fatima Cortes (Great Oak/SS) -- Senior leader for Great Oak team that extended Section and State winning streaks and again qualified for NXN. Placed third in the Southern Section D-I race and seventh at State. MileSplitCA All-State Senior first team selection. Signed with Cal.

Colleen McCandless (Granada/NC) -- Two-time NCS champion, State Division II third place, Foot Locker National finalist. Also won at Crystal Springs and Rough Rider and set PRs at Woodbridge (16:24.30 for 3 miles) and State (17:47.80 for 5K). MileSplitCA All-State Senior first team selection.

Gabrielle Peterson (Healdsburg/NC) -- State Division V champion while running a 5K PR of 17:44.30. Placed fifth at Foot Locker West Regional to qualify for the FL Nationals where she was the top finisher among five CA qualifiers. MileSplitCA All-State Senior second team selection. Headed to Oregon State.

Mikaela Ramirez (Ayala/SS) -- Excelled at the end of the year and was top CA senior at NXN. Closed fast to finish third at State in the Division I race running a 5K PR of 17:36.40. MileSplitCA All-State Senior second team selection. Headed to Indiana.

Audrey Suarez (Mayfield/SS) -- Ran only seven races but won three of them including the CIF-State Division IV title with a 5K PR of 17:44.70. Also ran sixth at Regionals to earn a spot in the Foot Locker National Championships, and placed second at the Southern Section D-IV finals for the second year in row. MileSplitCA All-State Sophomore first team selection.
