The 45th Annual Dana Hills Invitational takes off this Saturday, boasting one of the largest contingent of teams in meet history! A mile up the road from the harbor, the school itself provides the backdrop as this course winds through the campus, and along the bike trails that outline the grounds.
More than 100 schools are expected for the invite that is split into three divisions, distinguished by school size. Meanwhile, athletes compete in separate grade-level races except for those that choose to run in the Senior/Sweepstakes races that kick off the meet at 8 am. Many of the San Diego Section's best make the quick trip north to compete while Orange County is well represented. The boys' course record is a swift 14:16 while the girls' record is at 16:15, set just last year by Capistrano's Valley Haley Herberg. It is a fast course that runs downhill for most of the last 800 meters of the race that ends on the track.
