Girls Distances
This year's Girls Distances are highlighted by a Redondo Union squad that has come on strong this Spring. Juniors Peyton Heiden and Isabella Landry are coming off of monster efforts last weekend where both flirted with that coveted 5 minute threshold. Foothill senior Hannah Hall continues to improve in breaking 5:06 two weeks ago and now coming off of 10:41 personal best in the 3200 meters. Warren's Nadine Gomez (5:11) will also be in the mix up front. Redondo sophomore Molly Hastings will lead the Sea Hawks as she looks to dip below that 11 minute barrier. Coming up from Carlsbad in the San Diego Section, Sage Creek sophomore Skyler Wallace is coming off an 11:06.92 effort two weeks ago. Long Beach Poly's Leslie Diaz is coming back from a 5:09 effort last weekend and will move up to push these two as well. Also in the 3200 is one of the most improved in California in Santa Ana sophomore Maria Hernandez. Going into the season with an 11:51 to her name, he broke 11:03 two weeks ago. The 800 meters is headlined by Ventura senior Sofia Ramos. A three-time CIF qualifier, Ramos is coming back from a 2:17 effort last weekend is looking to better her 2:16.40 personal best. She will be supported by freshman Maya Bryson of Oxford Academy, Redondo's Dominca Villegas and Bishop Amat sophomore Morgan Rust.
