Branham has been the best team in this section although they were defeated by Milpitas at the trials. Unfortunately, the Milpitas girls were disqualified which leaves Branham as the favorite. They will need to fend off two WCAL teams (Archbishop Mitty and St. Francis) to capture a section title.
The Valley Christian SJ boys have had a revolving door with lots of interchangeable parts and the current foursome recorded the fastest time in CCS this year at 42.05. They will have their hands full in the final with the 2nd seeded St. Francis boys and their rocket anchor, Brandon Bains (Malcolm Slaney photo). Palma, Archbishop Mitty and St. Ignatius will all contend for the all important third place finish.
