For many sections, the path to the CIF State Meet is a grind through multiple weekly levels of advancement. Although that's true to a degree for the Central Section, they have a different schedule that might be an advantage: only two layers of competition after league championships, and a Masters meet that's contested a week before all the other sections. Does the rest help their athletes perform better, especially in conjunction with competing on what is essentially their home track? Only time will tell! For now, we will simply highlight the top performers from the Central Section's final state meet qualifier, especially the ones that have a chance to compete well at state.
