Austin Violette won the Varsity Men’s 5K Race in 18 minutes, 32 seconds, outdistancing Kevin Tobin of Foresthill by 40 seconds and helping soar the Forest Lake Christian team to victory. The Falcons scored 25 points for the win, followed by Victory Christian in 2nd with 43 points and Foresthill in 3rd with 60 points.
Jake Miner of Victory Christian finished 3rd in 19:43, and then the Falcons swept 4th through 6 with strong performances from Ashton Santee (pictured left), DJ Unruh, and Billy Corbin, clocking 20:09, 20:14, and 20:15 respectively. Finishing out Forest Lake Christian’s triumph was Zach Ponce in 9th(20:28), Seth Brainard 10th (21:01), Amos McCamey 15th (22:49), and Jake Henry in 20th.
Forest Lake Christian also cinched the Women’s Varsity team title, led by Christa Weisman who ran away from her foes with an admirable time of 22:28, over 45 seconds ahead of 2nd place finisher, Kelsey Zoller of Foresthill. Finishing out the Falcons’ championship team was Lia Hegarty andElyse Vierra, grabbing 5th and 6th places with times of 25:55 and 26:11, as well as Madeline Zea and Annie Pearce securing 10th and 11th.
Forest Lake Christian’s Junior Varsity Men’s squad put the final touch on a perfect day for the Falcons, taking the team title on the 2-Mile Course, behind the 1st through 5th place finishes of Zac Bagley (14:06), Robert ring (14:20), Josh Thompson (14:43), David Herron (15:47, and Josh Long(18:55).
