Who is the Best Male HS XC Runner in CA History?

Round 2: The Round of 16

We've got our final field of 16, and it's time for the heavyweights to weigh in! Can anyone upset our four #1 seeds? Heck, some of the #2 seeds could very well have been #1's in this tournament, so it's going to be very interesting to see how this plays out over the rest of the week. My favorite match-up here is Marc Davis vs. Jeff Nelson: a two-time top-10 finisher at Foot Locker and the 1986 champ, against a legend from the days before there even was a national championship. You'll also find three former World Junior XC champions among the 1 seeds, all of them hitting their peaks in the 1970's. If nothing else, I hope everyone learns a little something about the history of distance running in California from these articles!
