Boys 100 meters

Javelin Guidry won in an all-conditions meet record of 10.13 aided by a 3.8 meters-per-second wind (Eric Taylor photo above). Three 2018s and one 2019 placed among the top six with Daniel Kamulali (Sierra Canyon/SS) 2nd in 10.33, Asani Hampton (Yucaipa/SS) 4th in 10.40, then-sophomore Cristian Moore (Oaks Christian/SS) 5th in 10.47 and 2018 Kazmier Allen (Tulare Union/CS) 6th in 10.48.

Boys 200 meters

Rancho Verde senior Isaiah Cunningham won in 21.07, aided by a 2.7 mps wind with four of the next five all non-seniors. Moore was second in 21.12, Quoi Ellis (Mt. Carmel/SD) was 3rd in 21.25, then-sophomore Christopher Hill (Rancho Cucamonga/SS) was 5th in 21.53 and 2018 Andrew Franco (Whitney/SJ) was 6th in 21.55.

Boys 400 meters

Zachary Shinnick (Damien/SS) ran one of the fastest times in meet history in winning in 46.12. He is now at USC but three other medalists from last June are still in high school. Then-sophomore Karson Lippert (La Costa Canyon/SD) was 2nd in 46.91, 2018 Parris Samaniego (Vista Murrieta/SS) was 5th in 47.38, and then-freshman Solomon Strader (Trinity Classical/SS) was 6th in 47.76.

And the class of that class is champion Jett Charvet (Heritage/NC), who won in 1:51.07, followed by Alex Scales (Bellarmine/CC) in 1:51.56, Moises Medrano (Bakersfield Highland/CS) in 1:51.67, Jason Gomez (Westmont/CC) in 1:52.22, Andrew Scherf (Clovis/CS) in 1:52.34, and Ian Irish (Palos Verdes/SS) in 1:52.81.

Sean Lee (Trabuco Hills/SS) went 6-11 to win the title last June over another 2018, Jake Grimsman (Vista del Lago/SJ), whose best was 6-9. Daylon Hicks (Clayton Valley/NC), a 2019, was 5th in 6-5.
