One of the SAC MOC meet records dates back to 1985. Most have been set more recently but there are now some very solid records that might not be broken for a while. One of the records that may get a test is the one in this event. Bishop O'Dowd senior Tierra Robinson-Jones finished off her junior season with a spectacular 53.24 personal best to place 2nd at the California state track and field meet. This season, she finished 2nd at the Arcadia Invitational with a season-best 53.37. That places her as CA #1 and US #5. Her closest competitor at this meet is a familiar one as Newark Memorial senior Alexis Surrell upset Robinson-Jones at the NCS MOC meet and will be racing out of lane 6, just ahead of Robinson-Jones.

Zachary Larrier of Monterey Trail was a talented sophomore who finished in 2nd place at the SJS Masters meet with a best of 48.17. This season, Larrier has taken his running to an even faster level with PRs in the 200 at 21.75 and an Arcadia Invitational victory in the 400m with a new lifetime best of 47.12. He should win this event fairly handily if he is near or better than his PR but we will have an exciting race for 2nd that will include Oakland Tech's Henry Larkin and Clayton Valley's Cameron Reynolds.
