Sonora senior Alexandro Vielma made up two position spots over the final split to win the Division 3-4-5 Varsity Boys race at the Cool Breeze Invitational at Pomona Fairplex.
Vielma ran the 3-mile course in the 15:28.7 to beat Francisco Rodriguez of Franklin (LA), who ran the course in 15:35.3, and Diego Urdiales of Damien (SS) who crossed in 15:48.5.
