Oak Park senior Sarah Shulze was challenged by Serrano freshman Tiana Goeson for the first part of the 3-mile race at the Cool Breeze Invitational before taking charge and maintaining it for the victory Friday night at the Brookside Golf Club north of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Shulze's time of 16:32.2 was the fastest winning time in the Girls Seeded race in the four years since the event moved from the El Prado course.
