Jack Wright interview Mar 08, 2018

Is the future of pole vaulting in CA a freshman at Great Oak? Only time will tell if young Jack Wright can leave an indelible mark on pole vaulting in the state. For now, he's barely a year into learning the discipline and already cleared 14-1 at the CA Winter Championships. Wright was fifth at that Feb. 17 meet at Arcadia HS and was the only freshman among 12 who cleared a height at the long-delayed event. He took three jumps at 14-7. No, he's not Sondre Guttormsen, the amazing Norwegian national at Davis Senior HS who cleared 18-feet indoors this winter. But the sky could very well be the limit for young Mr. Wright. Jack Wright will be among top athletes from SoCal and across the state scheduled to compete Friday and Saturday at the Redondo Nike Track Festival. You can follow MileSplitCA's coverage of the Redondo Nike Track Festival on live stream.
