Erik Gonzalez of Rubidoux and Joaquin Martinez de Pinillos of Cathedral Catholic battled to the quickest and closest battle of Friday night in the D3 Sweepstakes, as Gonzalez pulled out the win in 14:37.61 to 14:37.72. In the Girls D3 Sweepstakes, La Costa Canyon sophomore Kristin Fahy ran the fastest time of the day in 17:35.
