On the eve of the SJS Sub-Sectionals, we take a closer look at the three large school divisions heading into the post-season.

Millikan (SS) junior Jason Parra's fast time at the mid-September Woodbridge Invitational continues to be the fastest 3-mile performance of the 2022 XC season.

Ryan Mitchell of Davis leads all returning boys in the Sac-Joaquin Section on 5,000-meter courses.

As a freshman, Sonora's Broen Holman blistered the 3-mile cross country course at Woodbridge. He is the fastest returning boy in the SJS for that distance.

Oakdale won its first SJS division title, led by champion Caleb Cavanaugh, who returns along with Dax Daley and a strong group eyeing a repeat.

Two of the top-ranked teams in their respective divisions impressed on the Woodward Park 5K State Meet cross country course on Friday in Fresno.
