State Champ Cooper Stream & Vacaville Open Season
The Lagoon Valley Classic marked the return of our only reigning CIF State XC Champion from last season, Cooper Stream. He opened his season with a strong individual and team victory for the Vacaville Bulldogs.
Cooper Stream ran 15:23 to win the Lagoon Valley Classic for the third consecutive year, marking his second-fastest time at this meet in high school. However, the highlight of the day came when teammate Ty Hundley followed him across the finish line, completing the 1st- and 2nd-place sweep for Vacaville.
The Bulldogs dominated the team race, finishing with 23 points, while Atwater finished second with 59 points. They did so without one of their top returners, Connor Smith, who helped them place 7th at last year's D2 CIF State Championships. Nathan Rondoni (4th place) and William Wurzbach (6th place) stepped up big time, showing the Bulldogs are ready to compete with the best in California.
