Massey's superstar season included a pair of state records, a pair of CIF State Championships, a Nike Indoor National Championship, a pair of Nike Outdoor Nationals Championships, and qualification for the World Athletics U20 Championships. Now she'll forever be enshrined on California's exclusive list as the California Girls' Gatorade T&F Player of the Year.
At the start of 2026, Massey produced historic numbers at Nike Indoor Nationals, where she won the indoor shot put national title with a throw of 54-2.75 feet. That throw vaulted her to a U.S. #6 all-time ranking on the indoor high school shot put list. That unbelievable start to the season surely foreshadowed the constant heroics we'd see from Massey this spring.
During the outdoor season, she completed an undefeated shot put and discus season across 37 combined competitions. She secured victories at the Arcadia Invitational, CIF Southern Section Masters Meet, CIF State Championships, USATF U20 Championships, and Nike Outdoor Nationals.

Massey's most impressive throws of the season came on the biggest stages over the past month. First, at the CIF State Track and Field Championships, she broke the state meet record with a 196-4, moving up to U.S. #2 all-time. She then strengthened her historic mark with a 197-8.75 throw to win the USATF U20 Championships. Read more about it HERE.
Her best shot put throws also came at the USATF U20s, where she launched it 55-4.75 feet to secure her spot in two events at the World Athletics U20 Championships. This mark broke the California state record set by Elena Bruckner in 2016 and moved her up to U.S. #5 on the high school all-time list.

Next up is the World Athletics U20 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, August 5-9. Then, Jaslene Massey will head to the University of Oregon in the fall to continue building her legacy in the shot put and discus.
