After a superb cross-country season in which she finished 2nd in the DIII CIF State XC race, she finished 4th in the 3200m at the CIF State Track and Field Championships. She ran a personal record of 10:15.15, which ranks her as the U.S. #4 freshman and the top frosh/soph in California.
Before Maliyah Collins anchored Rosary to a girls' 4x100m relay state title, she also swept the D4 CIF Southern Section 100m and 200m. She finished the season as the U.S. #4 sophomore and CA #1 runner in the 200m, with a personal record of 23.35.
From the start of her freshman track season, Ava Parker emerged as a sprint threat. After sweeping the CIF San Diego Section 400m and 200m championships, she also qualified for both CIF State finals. At the CIF State Championships, Parker finished 3rd in the 400m and 6th in the 400m. Her 400m personal record of 53.47 is her most impressive performance and ranks her as the U.S. #4 freshman.
Long Beach Wilson's Ms. Consistent, Brooklyn Fowler, played a key role in forming the Bruins' record-breaking 4x400m relay team, considered the most dominant in California history. Besides running the second leg of their U.S. #3 all-time 4x400m relay, Fowler also placed 4th in the CIF State 400m final. Her personal best of 54.20 seconds ranks her as the U.S. #7 sophomore this season.
Grace Smith won her second consecutive D2 CIF Southern Section 800m title and finished fourth in the CIF State 800m final. She recently ran a season-best of 2:07.83, ranking her as the #10 sophomore in the nation.
In her freshman season, Journey Scott quickly emerged as a threat in the throws, winning the Redondo Nike Invitational shot put and finishing as runner-up at the Mt. SAC Relays. She ended the season with a fourth-place finish in the shot put and ranked #3 in California with a 45-8.5 throw.
In her sophomore season, Kaahliyah Lacy became a national star after running the U.S. #4 all-time in the 300m hurdles with a time of 39.93. She also finished as the runner-up in the CIF State 100mH final. Lacy ended the season as the U.S. leader in the 300m hurdles and ranked U.S. #10 in the 100m hurdles.
In her sophomore season, Sidney Johnson placed third in the discus and was runner-up in the shot put at the CIF State Track and Field Championships. Johnson is ranked among the top ten in the U.S. among sophomores in both throws this season. Her best mark is 160-8 in the discus, which also ranks her #2 in CA.
