With the inaugural Brooks XC Championships just a week away, it's time for the Brooks XC West Regional Championships. This event continues the tradition of the original XC National Championships, which began in 1979, by returning to the Mt. SAC course in Walnut, California.
Over the years, athletes such as Galen Rupp, Deena Kastor, Meb Keflezighi, Lopez Lomong, and Sara Hall have competed at this meet. This year, runners will again aim to earn the title of "best in the west" and claim one of the ten qualifying spots for the Brooks XC Championships.
Before tomorrow's races, here's a look back at every West Regional champion since 2006.
