CANDIDATES
Katie McGuinness (La Canada): On her second jump at the CIF Southern Section Division 3 Prelims, Katie McGuinness broke the elusive 20-foot barrier for the first time to qualify for CIF Finals next week. McGuiness has also secured the top spot in the California rankings and the U.S. No.15 spot.
Kadence Bain (Long Beach Poly): This sophomore from Long Beach Poly continues to impress in her first year running the 300m hurdles. Kadence Bain ran a PR of 42.34 to lead all qualifiers in the CIF Southern Section D1 Finals this coming week.
Emery Gonzales (Torrey Pines): nzales (Torrey Pines): At the NCC Coastal League Finals, Emery Gonzales ran a time of 54.57, securing a top 10 rank in California, making her the third fastest sophomore in the state. This is perfect timing for the sophomore preparing for the CIF San Diego Section Prelims this week.
Rylee Blade (Santiago): At the CIF Southern Section Division 1 Prelims, Rylee Blade showed just how good of shape she's in. In the blazing heat of over 95 degrees, she ran 4:46.61 in the 1600m (CA No.4) and 9:58.46 in the 3200m (CA No.3).
