As CIF starts approaching, it's a great time to look at who has made the most improvement, who looks to be peaking at the right time to hit a personal record during championship season.
Someone who may be looking to peak during CIF is Olivia Kirk. Although Kirk hasn't hit her wind-legal personal record of 23.86, she has ran a wind-aided 23.74 and 23.93 recently in the 200m. It should also be noted that last year, she had already run nine 200m races versus only four because she transferred into Calabasas.
The junior's consistency shouldn't be discounted even though she hasn't hit a personal record. It will be interesting to see what she runs in CIF as she starts to roll into peak form.
One of the most improved runners in the 200m is Josephine Bayer of Dublin High School, who has made a big jump from her freshman season. Last year, Bayer ran 28.26, but after a 2.83-second PR in the 200m, she played a critical role on the Dublin relay teams.
