California Performer of the Week (Nov. 25-Dec. 1)

The last of the CIF season took place on Saturday morning. Take a look at some of the key performances from this weekend!

Boys CA Performer of the Week

Evan Noonan - Dana Hills HS (SS) - Ran a 14:43.70 to become a three-peat CIF state champion and earn himself an individual berth to his second Nike Cross Nationals. His final race at Woodward Park resulted in the fifth fastest time of the day and was around ten seconds faster than the runner-up in the Div. III race.

Eyan Turk - Woodcrest Christian School (SS) - Eyan Turk fired on all cylinders at the CIF-State Championships. The Univ. of Kentucky commit ran the fastest time of the day, 14:32.50, en route to winning the Div. V individual title. He'll be heading up to Portland for his first and final go at Nike Cross Nationals.

Landon Pretre - Menlo School (CCS) - Was the Div. V runner-up at the CIF-State Championships, but led his team to the team title in their division. Pretre clocked a 14:38.80 and will make a Nike Cross Nationals appearance alongside his team on Saturday.

Girls CA Performer of the Week

Chiara Dailey - La Jolla HS (SDS) - Dailey clocked the fastest time of the meet with her 16:44.40, and repeated as the Div. IV individual champion. She took the first mile out in 5:15 and at the finish, there was a forty-five second gap between her and the runner-up in the Div. IV race. Dailey punched an individual ticket to Nike Cross Nationals but opted out in order to participate at the FootLocker West Regional. 

Abigail Errington - South Pasadena HS (SS) - From 43rd at last year's state meet to this year's Div. III individual champion. Errington ran a 16:57.50 en route to her title and was the third fastest time of the day. She led her team to the Div. III team title and also secured an individual berth to Nike Cross Nationals.

Sadie Engelhardt Ventura HS (SS) - Engelhardt's final race at Woodward Park. The senior from Ventura HS won the Div. II race with a 16:57.60 and collected her third individual state title in a row. She earned a berth to Nike Cross Nationals and will now have been present at a cross country national meet for a fourth time in as many years.
