State Meet Race Video Countdown: No. 9, Girls 4x400m Relay

Second in a Series

Sophomore Joelle Trepagnier roared to a 52.11 anchor leg to deliver Culver City (SS) a victory over Wilson-Long Beach (SS) in the 4x400-meter relay.

Culver City's time of 3:41.08 is the fastest in California this season and ranks U.S. No. 4. It is the fastest winning time at the State Finals since 2014 when Long Beach Poly ran 3:38.05.

The stellar anchor leg by Trepagnier, who earlier ran 53.55 for second place in the open 400m final, pulled Culver City into second place in the final team standings. City's winning lineup was senior Imaan Minwalla, freshman Leena Powell, junior Morgan Maddox, and Trepagnier.

Wilson, which had the team competition wrapped up before this final event on the track, placed second in season-best 3:42.49. That time ranks CA No. 2, U.S. No. 5, and would have won the State title at the previous six championships.

Wilson ran a lineup of freshman Brooke Blue, sophomore Kaylin Edwards, senior Aujane Luckey, and junior Xcarlet Tirado. Luckey, who earlier won the 400m in 53.26, ran 53.61 on her third-leg spit.
