POLL Girls Track and Field Performer of the Week


Congratulations to Rylee Blade of Santiago-Corona (SS), last week's top vote-getter for MileSplit Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Week.


Rylee, a sophomore, had the top qualifying times in the long distances at the Southern Section Division 1 Prelims at Trabuco Hills HS in Mission Viejo, running 4:52.87 for 1600 meters and 10:38.29 for 3200 meters.

Rylee received 81 percent of the vote in a statewide pole, the most ever by an athlete in our poll this season.



Congratulations to all athletes whose performances warrant consideration in this weekly poll. And thanks to everyone who voted to support these amazing athletes.

Adonijah Currie (Quartz Hill/SS) - Adonijah, a senior, ripped off a state-leading 23.58 (1.8) performance for 200 meters to win the Division 1 title at the CIF-Southern Section Division Championships at Moorpark HS.

Payton Godsey (Oaks Christian/SS) - Payton, a junior, swept the distances and ran second leg on the winning 4x400m relay team (3:52.28) as Oaks Christian won the Division 4 team title at the CIF-Southern Section Division Championships at Moorpark HS. Godsey won the 1600m in 4:55.56 and defended her title in the 3200m (10:29.28).

April Fontenette (Notre Dame-Sherman Oaks/SS) - April, a senior, swept the throws at the CIF-Southern Section Division Championships at Moorpark HS, winning Division 3 titles in the discus (162-8) and shot put (45-2). Both are CA No. 1 marks and PRs. It was her third consecutive D-3 discus title. 

Meagan Humphries (Castaic/SS) - Meagan, a junior, won four events at the CIF-Southern Section Division Championships at Moorpark HS. She won Division 3 titles in the 200m (23.85/1.8), high jump (5-8), long jump (20-00.25/-1.3), and triple jump (39-10.75/1.2). Her marks in the 200m and long jump are both PRs and rank CA No. 4.

Katie Kopec (Whitney/SJ) - Katie, a senior, had a hand in three titles athe CIF-Sac Joaquin Section Division 1 Finals at Folsom HS. Kopec swept the distances, running 4:59.26 for 1600m, and 10:56.64 for 3200m, and she helped the 4x800m relay team to a SJS-leading time of 9:23.00.

Aujane Luckey (Wilson-Long Beach/SS) - Aujane, a senior, ran a state-leading PR of 53.23 to win the Division 1 title in the 400 meters, placed third in the 200m (23.89) and helped the Bruins' 4x400m relay team to a state-best 3:43.82 at the CIF-Southern Section Division Championships at Moorpark HS. 

Mari Testa (Campolindo/NC) - Mari, a senior, swept the sprints at the CIF-North Coast Section Tri-Valley Area meet at Foothill HS, winning the 100m in 11.87 (1.2), and the 200 in 24.62 (1.2). Both are PRs and NCS-leading times.

Bella Turner (Liberty-Bakersfield/CS) - Bella, a junior, swept the hurdles at the CIF-Central Section Division 1 Finals at Clovis East HS, winning the 100mH event in 14.62 (1.3) and the 300mH in 44.02. Both are PRs and CS season-best times.
