Saturday's Southern Section Track and Field Championships at Moorpark High School will crown individual, relay, and team champions across four divisions of the massive 471-school section, by far the largest of the 10 California Interscholastic Federation sections.
Champions will be crowned in 128 events, plus four boys and four girls teams will leave Moorpark High on Saturday night with the coveted CIF-SS Team Championship plaques.

Athletes and relay teams competing here have so far survived league finals and divisional preliminaries to make it this stage of the post-season. Saturday's top performers will advance to the CIF-SS Masters Meet on May 20, also at Moorpark HS. Here's how that works:
- Top nine (9) overall times, regardless of division, in the lane races, and top 12 overall, regardless of division, in the 800, 1600, 3200, and all field events will advance
- Finishers ten (10) and eleven (11) are alternates in events that automatically qualify nine (9). Finishers thirteen (13) and fourteen (14) are alternates in events that automatically qualify twelve (12).
- 4x800 relay teams, do not compete at the Division Finals, but have already been set for Masters.
