POLL Girls Track and Field Performer of the Week


Congratulations to Keilee Hall of Christian Brothers (SJ) last week's top vote-getter for MileSplit Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Week.


Keilee, a senior, ran a CA-leading 300-meter hurdles time of 43.99 at the Ron Ruptier Invitational at Ponderosa HS in Shingle Springs. She also won the 400 in 58.45 and the 100m hurdles in a 14.57 (-0.8) PR.

Keilee received 47 percent of the vote in a statewide poll. Hannah Riggins, a senior at Del Norte (SD) was second with 30 percent, and Amirah Shaheed, a junior at Madison (SD), received 10 percent.

Congratulations to all athletes whose performances warrant consideration in this weekly poll. And thanks to everyone who voted to support these amazing athletes.

Mackenzie Browne (J.W. North/SS) - Mackenzie, a senior, broke her own 800m meet record with a 2:09.48 (CA No. 2) performance at the 46th Mt. Carmel Invitational and she also ran a 1600m PR of 4:53.14 for second place behind Hannah Riggins, who ran a meet record time. 

Kapiolani Coleman (Cathedral Catholic/SS) - Kapi, a senior, ran a CA-leading and U.S. No. 7 time of 42.58 in the 300m hurdles to shatter a long-held meet record at the 46th Mt. Carmel Invitational. 

Sadie Engelhardt (Ventura/SS) - Sadie, a sophomore, ran a national leading time in the mile of 4:41.06 with a U.S.-seasonal best and CA sophomore class record 4:39.11, and her en route split for 1600m ranks No. 3 in APU Distance Meet of Champions history. 

Y'Vette Harris (Lincoln - Stockton/SJ) - YVette, a senior, ran a state-leading PR 100m hurdles time of 13.90 (-0.5), and she also won the 300m hurdles in 44.53 (CA No. 10) at the Thunder Invitational at Rocklin HS.  

Alyssa Hope (King/SS) - Alyssa, a senior, set state-leading marks in both the long jump (20-3.25) and triple jump (40-3), placed second in the high jun (5-6), and anchored the 4x100m relay team to a CA-leading time of 47.48 at the Mt. Carmel Invitational. 

Georgia Jeanneret (JSerra/SS) - Georgia, a junior, won the elite 800-meter race at the APU Distance Meet of Champions in 2:10.40, the No. 6 time in meet history, and the fourth-fastest time in the state this season.

Hannah Riggins (Del Norte/SD) - Hannah, a senior, a week after running a U.S. No. 2 time for 800m, clocked a U.S. top-9 time of 4:49.50 for 1600m to shatter the meet record at the 46th Mt. Carmel Invitational.

Payton Smith (La Jolla/SD) - Payton, a junior, swept the long sprints at the 46th Mt. Carmel Invitational, winning the 200 in an all-conditions CA-leading 24.08 (4.1), and the 400m in 54.85, CA No. 2 and one of only two sub-55s this season.
