POLL Girls Track and Field Performer of the Week

* * *

Congratulations to April Fontenette of Notre Dame-Sherman Oaks (SS) last week's top vote-getter for MileSplit Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

April, a senior, had a double-PR week, going 43-0 in the shot put at a mid-week tri meet, and throwing the discus 157-9 (U.S. No. 4) at the John Godina Throwers Classic at Notre Dame HS in Sherman Oaks.

April received 48 percent of the vote in a statewide poll. Renae Searls of Alhambra (NC) was second in the voting at 12 percent.

Congratulations to all athletes whose performances warrant consideration in this weekly poll. And thanks to everyone who voted to support these amazing athletes.
