POLL Boys Track and Field Performer of the Week

Congratulations to Xai Ricks of Long Beach Poly (SS) this week's top vote-getter for MileSplit Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

Xai, a junior, competing indoors at the Texas Tech Under Armour HS Classic in Lubbock, ran a U.S. No. 1 time for the indoor 400m of 47.77 during Friday's prelims.

Xai received an overwhelming 76 percent of the vote in a statewide poll. Leo Young, a senior at Newbury Park (SS), was second in the voting at 11 percent. 

Congratulations to all athletes whose performance warranted consideration in last week's poll and thanks to everyone who voted.

Jaelon Barbarin (Chaminade/SS) - Jaelon, a senior, ran the 150 meter dash (16.28) and placed second in the 60-meter dash (6.93) at the Simi Valley Winter Qualifier. Jealon's 60m time ranks No. 2 in CA this winter.

Jordan Coleman (Granada Hills Charter/LA) - Coleman, a junior, improved his Winter Qualifier meet series-leading 60-meter dash time to 6.82 seconds running on the fast track at the Simi Valley WCQ meet. 

Stephen Dahdouh (Pleasant Grove/SJ) - Stephen, a senior, ran a CA Winter-best in the 60-meter hurdles of 8.18 seconds, won the 60-meter dash (7.11), was third in the 300 meters (36.17), and also ran the 150-meter dash (17.03). at the Pittsburg Winter Qualifier.

Jason Deal (Paloma Valley/SS) - Jason, a senior, won the 60-meter dash (7.07) and the 150-meter dash (15.96) and placed second win the 300-meter dash (35.47) at the Vista Murrieta Winter Qualifier. Jason's 150m time is the fastest in CA this winter.

Tarron Johnson (Vista Murrieta/SS) - Tarron, a senior, needed a sprint-finish to hit the line first in the 600 meters with the second-fastest time of the winter, 1:23.32.

Xai Ricks (Long Beach Poly/SS) - Xai, a junior, won both the 300 (34.21) and the 600 (1:21.77) at the Redondo Winter Qualifier. Xai's 600m time is the fastest in CA this winter and his 300m time ranks No. 2.

Dijon Stanley (Granada Hills Charter/LA) - Dijon, a senior, won the 300-meter dash (33.70) and placed second in the 150-meter dash (16.49) at the Simi Valley Winter Qualifier. Dijon's 300m time is the fastest in CA this winter.
