'23 TRACK and FIELD PERFORMER OF THE WEEK POLL

* * *

Congratulations to Payton Smith , a junior at La Jolla (SD), and Christina Gray, a freshman at Carson (LA), this week's co-top vote-getters for MileSplit Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

For the first time, we have a voting tie in our Athlete of the Week poll where both Christina and Payton received 34 percent of the vote in a statewide poll.

Christina, a freshman, won the 60m (7.64), placed second in the long jump (18-3.75), and third in the 150m (18.28) at the Los Alamitos Winter Qualifier.

Payton, a junior, won the 150 (18.42) and 300m (39.69) and anchored her Havoc TC 4x200m team (1:44.66) at the Great Oak Winter Qualifying meet.

Iliana Downing, a junior at La Costa Canyon (SD), was second in the voting receiving 21 percent of the vote.

Congratulations to all athletes whose performance warranted consideration in last week's poll and thanks to everyone who voted.

Who's next?

Each week we will selected seven or eight top performers from the previous week/weekend and put them on the line for you to select the CA T&F Performer of the Week.

Check out the resumes below and then make sure to vote in the FanPower module at the bottom of the page. As always, voting closes Friday at 9 p.m.

So we've gotta ask: WHO YA GOT?
