Congratulations to top vote-getter, Aubrey Eaton of Providence-Burbank (SS)!!


Eaton, a sophomore, won the Prep League title, her second race win of the season, running 19:23.20, a 27-second year-over-year improvement while beating the defending champion by more than 43 seconds on the 3-mile course at Pierce College in Woodland Hills.

Eaton received 65 percent of the vote in a statewide poll. Grace Hutchison, a senior at Buchanan (CS), was second in the voting, receiving 22 percent of the votes.

Each week we will put seven athletes on the line and leave it up to you to select the overall CA XC Runner of the Week. Our objective each week will be to select top performers from across the state.

Payton Godsey (Oaks Christian/SS) - Payton, a junior, was a runaway winner at the Marmonte League Finals, running 16:43.07 to win by more than 50 seconds on the 3-mile course at Agoura HS.

Katie Kopec (Whitney/SJ) - Katie, a senior, was the fastest girl on the course at the CIF-Sac Joaquin Section Sub--Sectional qualifier meet, running 17:41.00 on the 3-mile course at Frogtown, Angel's Camp.

Amelie Maltz (Lick Wilmerding/NC) - Amelie, a senior, won the BCL title a year after placing second, running 18:34.80 to win by 34 seconds on the 5K course at Lindley Meadow at Golden Gate Park for her fourth consecutive BCL meet win this fall.

Evie Marheineke (Archbishop Mitty/CC) - Evie, a sophomore, was the fastest girl on the course at the WCAL Finals, runnin 17:59.90 to win by more than 14 seconds on the 2.95-mile course at Crystal Springs in Belmont.

Allura Markow (Dana Hills/SS) - Allura, a senior, won her second consecutive South Coast League title, running 16:52.50, a 32.80 year-over-year improvement on the 3-mile course at Irvine Regional Park.

Hannah Riggins (Del Norte/SD) - Hannah, a senior, was the fastest girl on the course at the North Coast Conference Championships, running 18:06.00 on the 3-mile course at Kit Carson Park in Escondido.

Hanne Thomsen (Montgomery/NC) - Hanne, a sophomore, continued her undefeated season with a second consecutive North Bay League Oak Division title, running 16:20.20 -- more than a 56-second year-over-year improvement -- while clocking the second fastest time ever on the 2.97-mile Spring Lake County Park course in Santa Rosa.
