Congratulations to last week's top vote-getter, Hanne Thomsen of Montgomery (NC)!!


Thomsen, a sophomore, ran away with the title at the Clovis Invitational, running 17:04.20 to win the Girls Championship race by more than 23 seconds on the 5K course at Woodward Park in Fresno. 

Thomsen received 53 percent of the vote in a statewide poll. Hannah Riggins, a senior at Del Norte (SD) was second in the voting, receiving 18 percent of the votes.

Each week we will put seven athletes on the line and leave it up to you to select the overall CA XC Runner of the Week. Our objective each week will be to select top performers from across the state.

Holly Barker (Laguna Hills, SS) - The sophomore defended her Girls Sweepstakes title at the Orange County Championships, running 16:51.0 to win by almost 10 seconds on the 3-mile course at Oak Canyon Park in Silverado.

Ellie Buckley (Campolindo/NC) - For the second consecutive year the senior took top honors in the Large School Division at the Rough Rider Invitational, running 18:00.9 to win by more than 19 seconds on the 5K course at Woodward Park in Fresno. 

Ava-Marie Csutoras (Chico/NS) - The sophomore was the fastest girl on the course at the Chico Autumn Invitational, running 20:29.06 over the 5K layout at Hooker Park in Chico. 

Melisse Djomby Enyawe (Corona del Mar/SS) - The junior rolled to victory in the Small Schools Division at the Orange County Championships, running 17:24.6 to win by more than a minute on the 3-mile layout at Oak Canyon Park in Silverado. 

Tatum Olesen (Menlo-Atherton/CC) - The junior was the fastest girl on the course at the Phil Wilder Invitational, running 17:30.00 to win by 4.21 seconds on the 5K course at Hayward High School in Hayward.

Emily Schott (Ayala/SS) - The junior was the fastest girl on the course at the Bell Gardens Invitational, running 17:42.8 to win by more than 35 seconds on the 3-mile course at El Dorado Park in Long Beach. 

Melanie True (Ventura/SS) - The freshman was a runaway winner of the Varsity Girls Division at the Ventura County Championships, running 18:43.50 to win by 23.5 seconds over the 3-mile course at Castaic Lake in Castaic.
