Congratulations to last week's top vote-getter, Dax Daley of Oakdale (SJ)!!


Daley, a senior, claimed the Varsity Boys title at the Clovis West Golden Eagle meet, running 15:46.14 over the 5K course at Woodward Park in Fresno to win by more than 13 seconds.

Daley received a whopping 80 percent of the vote in a statewide poll. Mateo Malko-Allen of St. Mary's College (NC) was second in the voting.

Each week we will put top performers on the line and leave it up to you to select the overall XC Runner of the Week. Our objective each week will be to select top performers from across the state.

Alex Alvarez (LaSalle /SS) - The senior rolled to victory at the Santa Clarita Valley meet, running 16:24.37 to win the Varsity Small Schools race by more than 15 seconds on the 3-mile course at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita.

KC Barber (Westlake/SS) - The junior was the fastest boy on the course at the Santa Clarita Valley meet, running 15:34.21 to win the Varsity Large Schools race by just over four seconds on the 3-mile course at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita. 

Aaron Cohen (West Torrance/SS) - The senior was the fastest boy at the Pacific Grove Palo Corona meet, running 16:38.20 to win by more than 13 seconds on the 5K course at Palo Corona Regional Park in Carmel-By-The-Sea.

Eli Fitchen-Young (Santa Cruz/CC) - The sophomore was the top CA runner at the Crystal Springs Invitational, running 14:56.92 for second place in the boys championship race on the iconic 2.95-mile layout in Belmont.

Micah Sanchez (Liberty Christian/SD) - The senior was the fastest of the boys in a match-racing format at the SoCal Invitational, running 15:16.9 to win the race of team Nos. 1-3 by more than 15 seconds on the 5K course at Guajome Park in Oceanside.

Leo Young (Newbury Park/SS) - The senior, running his first invitational of the season, dropped a Clovis Invitational meet record time of 14:25.9 to beat his twin brother Lex by 5.80 seconds in the second-fastest time ever run on the 5K Woodward Park course in Fresno.
