'22 XC RUNNER OF THE WEEK POLL
* * *
Congratulations to last week's top vote-getter, Rylee Blade of Santiago (SS)!!
Blade, proving that she's fully recovered from an injury in the spring, won the Girls Sundown Showdown elite race at the Cool Breeze Evening Invitational, covering the 3-mile layout at Pomona Fairplex in 17:13.50.
Blade received 79 percent of the vote in a statewide poll. Avery Peck (Long Beach Poly/SS) was second in the voting.
Each week we will put seven athletes on the line and leave it up to you to select the overall XC Runner of the Week. Our objective each week will be to select top performers from across the state.
Be sure to vote in the MileSplit Picks window below the candidate list.
