Welcome back to CA XC 2022!
We are expanding this week's initial Performer of the Week poll to include the first two weekends of the '22 season. We know not all sections are up and running just yet while others have taken the line at competitive invitationals once or twice already.
Each week we will put seven athletes on the line and leave it up to you to select the overall Performer of the Week. Our objective each week will be to select top performers from across the state.

This week's candidates (listed alphabetically by last name):
Manuel Correia (Point Loma/SD/Sr.) - He ran 9:52.70 on the 2.1-mile campus layout at West Hills HS in Santee to win the Wolf Pack Invitational.
Matthew McDonald (Cosumnes Oaks/SJ/Sr.) - He was a winner at the Pleasant Grove Eagle Run running 10:20.80 over the 2-mile course at Pleasant Grove HS in Elk Grove.
Devin Pereira (Rocklin/SJ/Sr.) - A winner for the second week in a row, Pereira followed his Week 1 victory at the Sierra Invitational with a win at the Oakmont Invitational running 12:17.11 over the 4000-meter course at Maidu Regional Park in Roseville.
Omar Reyes (El Camino/SD/Jr.) - Ran away with the win at the Bronco Roundup, running the hilly 2-mile layout at Kit Carson Park in Escondido in 9:49.00.
Micah Sanchez (Liberty Charter/SD/Sr.) - Won the Vaquero Stampede at El Capitan HS in Santee, covering the 2-mile campus layout in 9:27.00.
Carter Spradling (Clovis East/CS/Jr.) - Won the Dennis DeWitt Invitational, running 8:57.40 the 3000-meter layout at Town & Country Park in Madera.
Alex Valencia (Bakersfield/CS/So.) - He won the Highlander Invitational running 17:22.30 on the 5000-meter Woodward Park course in Fresno.
