Jathiyah Muhammad, a sophomore at Dublin (NC), cleared 14 feet in the pole vault at the North Coast Section Finals to temporarily take the state lead (equaled the next day) as one of only eight girls in the country to clear that height this season and one of only seven to clear at least 14feet in CA history.

For that performance, you voted Muhammad as the MileSplitCA Girls Track and Field Performer of the Week for the week ending May 21.

Muhammad received 67.27 percent of more than 6,800  votes in a statewide poll. Kylee Davis, a senior at Golden Valley (SS), was second in the voting, receiving 28.97 percent of the vote.

This week our poll asks you to choose among 14 individual event winners from the 102nd CIF-State Track and Field Championships.

Voting closes Friday at 9 p.m.
