Granada (NC) junior Dheeraj Gurusamy, who set a meet record with a big PR in the 1600m at the Granada Distance & Sprint Festival, was the top vote-getter as the MileSplit CA Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Meet. (Interview by Jeffrey Parenti)
Dheeraj Gurusamy, a junior at Granada (NC), set a meet record with a 4:15.76 PR to win the 1600-meet fast heat at the Granada Distance & Sprint Festival.
For that performance, you voted Gurusamy as the MileSplitCA Boys Track and Field Performer of the Week for the week ending April 16.
Gurusamy received 66.14 percent of more than 8,900 votes in a statewide poll. Marcel Mitchell-Francis, a junior at Long Beach Wilson (SS), was second in the voting, receiving 29.82 percent of the vote.
