MILESPLIT CA GIRLS PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Buchanan junior Grace Hutchison's performance at the West Coast Relays made her the voting favorite in this week's MileSplitCA Girls Track and Field Performer of the Week poll. (DeAnna Turner photos)
Grace Hutchison, a junior at Buchanan (CS), ran a 10:38.78 PR to win the 3200m (then-CA No. 12) at the West Coast Relays, and a 2:12.25 PR for third place in the 800m (then-CA No. 13), on April 1.
For that performance, you voted Hutchison as the MileSplitCA Girls Track and Field Performer of the Week for the week ending April 1.
Hutchison received 46.69 percent of more than 5,200 votes in a statewide poll. Josephine Scales, a senior at ML King (SS), was second in the voting, receiving 43.33 percent of the vote.
Each week we will put seven top performers from the past week on the line and let you choose the top CA Track and Field Performer of the Week. However, this week because of all the jaw-dropping performances at Arcadia, we have increased our candidate list to nine and included only performances from that stellar showcase event.
(NOTE: Rankings are based on results in the MileSplit database as of Monday early afternoon and are subject to change as more results are loaded into the database.)
Voting closes Friday at 9 p.m.
