Adonijah Currie, a junior at Golden Valley (SS), heads into the 2022 track and field season as the No. 2 returner in the class for 400 meters (55.17), and the No. 3 returner in the class in both the 100m (12.05/NWI), and 200m (24.51/NWI).

You voted this versatile sprinter as the top junior combination-event girls track and field athlete in CA as part of our CA Girls Performer of the Week Poll series.

Currie received an unprecedented 94.41 percent of more than 2,000 votes in a statewide poll. Sadia Green, a junior at Long Beach Wilson (SS), was second in the voting, receiving 3.76 percent of the vote.

With the season now underway, we will again put seven top performers from the past week on the line and let you choose the top CA Track and Field Performer of the Week.
