This is a weekly series that will highlight some of the top up-and-coming young stars in the Golden State. This week our focus is on boys who stood out at Saturday's CA Winter Championships at Arcadia HS.

Next week we will focus on Frosh-Soph girls who stood out at the Winter Championships track and field meet.

A couple of the girls we featured last week won event titles on Saturday: Claremont sophomore Denise Chen (3000 meter run) and La Canada sophomore Arielle McKenzie (1500 meter run). 

The meet at Arcadia HS was a culmination of a series of qualifier meets that begin in mid-December and continued after the holidays. (Athletes compete unattached in these events, although we do use school affiliations for identification purposes.)

This week's feature highlights five boys in either the 2025 or 2024 class who made an impact at last Saturday's meet, including two who garnered gold medals. Take a closer look:
