Andrew Burr, a freshman at Sacramento Country Day (SJ), cruised the 5K course to win the small schools division race at the Wildfire Invitational at Foresthill in 17:16, eight seconds faster than Colfax senior Jacob Kolster.

In recognition of his accomplishment, Burr was voted as CA's Boys Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending Oct. 16, receiving 49.83 percent of the vote to edge out Granada (NC) junior Roland Ruckmann-Barnes, who had 46.46 percent of the vote. The overall difference in the most active and competitive voting we've seen yet this fall was 51 votes.

Vote for this week's CA Boys Cross Country Runner of the Week based on last week's meet results through Oct. 23. Voting closes Friday at 9 p.m.

Each week we will put seven on the line and leave it up to you to select the most deserving athlete through your votes. Please vote for this week's top performer.
