This fall, we hope to take some time every Tuesday and Wednesday to dig deeper into the results from the previous weekend's biggest meets. We might compare to the meet's own history, merge with other meets, or break down the races in different ways. The goal is to show the stats in a new light using the many tools that the MileSplit database makes available to us.
For this week's Deep Dive we have two different approaches. First, we've continued our series comparing 2021's meets to 2019, to see how the cross country population at large is recovering from the pandemic. Second, we're putting all Clovis Invitational races together and then separating each graduation year (seniors, junior, sophomores, and freshmen). That way, we can determine which teams had the best single-class squads at Woodward Park this past weekend. Pay particular attention to the boys teams that have the top junior classes, because they are likely to be among the best teams in the state next fall.
