This is the latest in a series of articles looking back at the 1987 CIF-State Cross Country Championships, the first in California.

We highlighted the top boys' cross country all-time state meet programs last week, with Arcadia shadowing over all of the competition to reign supreme in that one. Our girls' breakdown is much, MUCH closer!  

As we are sticking with allowing 24 of the top teams to toe the line for our Virtual All-Time State Meet, we invited a 25th squad to join the fun as Great Oak's 'B' squad had enough ammunition to earn a spot. 

With our girls, we found that TWO programs had enough to break into the action. So, if you will,  we are scoring the top 24 programs in State Meet history, but found that the 'Junior Varsity' squads from Great Oak and Saugus also deserved to be...
