Scroll below to find that Campolindo's Hannah Ruane ran 17:15.90 in 2016 at a DAL Center Meet for 2.9 miles stands as the fastest time over the last four years. As for the fastest clocking in our time window on the 3.0 DLS/Carondelet layout?
Isabella Fauria, as a freshman in 2016, went 17:38.00 to win her race. That time ranks fourth over the last four years.
Fauria, now a senior at Sacramento St. Francis, is scheduled to be in Southern California this weekend, running in the sweepstakes race at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic.
So who will it be who steps up to challenge Fauria's time for 3 miles at Newhall Park during Saturday's DSL/Carondelet Invitational?
Taking that one step further, the boys course record of 14:59 set by Blair Hurlock of De La Salle in 2013 could be under assault by Sacramento Jesuit senior Matt Strangio, one of the nation's elite senior runners.
Strangio's best time on his only previous trip on Newhall, run as a freshman, ranks 26th over the past four years. Only one other current runner on the list among the top 40 is Amador Valley senior Jack Gray, whose 15:43.80 for third in a race that produced the Nos. 2 and 3 times on our list, ranks 24th.
