Five of the top six times in the state came out of the Southern Section Masters Meet and the one that didn't was top qualifier Eastvale Roosevelt, which went even faster at SS Divisionals the week before. Still, the Huskies 4x400 relay team's 3:43.77 from division finals and 3:43.98 at Masters are the two fastest times in the state this year and their SB ranks U.S. No. 13. Long Beach Poly, second to Roosevelt both weeks, has the No. 2 qualifying time (3:44.15) followed by Riverside North (3:44.87), Long Beach Wilson (3:45.98), Oaks Christian (3:46.58) and Dana Hills (3:47.11). The Dana Hills Dolphins were eighth in the State Final last year, the only 2018 finalist from this list to return. San Diego's Scripps Ranch has the No. 7 qualifying time (3:52.16/CA No. 11) followed by Bakersfield Liberty (3:53.44), San Lorenzo Valley (3;55.85) and San Diego Eastlake (3:55.85).
