The state meet this year will take place one week earlier than normal on May 24-25 which means a lot of meets have moved up their dates just like this Saturday's Sacramento Meet of Champions. This meet has proven to be one of the best late-season meets in California that features some of the best track and field athletes in Northern California. Last year, two meet records were set by Tierra Robinson-Jones of Bishop O'Dowd (53.15 for 400 meters) and Sondre Guttormsen of Davis (18-2 in the pole vault). Both athletes went on to win state titles with Robinson-Jones winning the 200 and 400 and Guttormsen winning the pole vault and placing second in the 110m high hurdles.
In the next few pages, you can check out all of the events that will take place in the more competitive invitational section which will start at 4 p.m.
