As was the case with the Central and Sac-Joaquin Sections, where our Contenders preview series opened, the Central Coast Section gets 3 athletes per event into the CIF State Championship in June (unless athletes meet the 2018 at-large standards). This season, every distance champion from 2017 is back to defend their crowns. It should be highly competitive and it will be very interesting how many repeat champions we get in 2018.
