Although for much of the race Mt. Carmel's Katherine Hawley was misidentified as one of her teammates by the announcer, it didn't seem to make any difference as she pulled away to capture the division title at 18:36.2. "I picked up my training over the summer and felt much stronger," said the senior. Steele Canyon, led by runner-up Janelle Shallal, won the team title.
