#3 Elena Denner, Oak Ridge (SJS)
Every season, several runners throughout the state rise to prominence and during the 2017 Track and Field season, Elena Denner was one such runner. She recorded a personal best in the mile at the Stanford Invitational with a 3rd place finishing 4:51.42. She also had bests of 2:16.28 in the 800m as well as 10:14.99 winning effort at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters meet. Denner finished in 4th place at the California state TF meet with her 2nd fastest time of the season at 10:21.44. She finished in 26th place at last year's Cross Country state final but based on her TF times, Denner is ready to run much faster this coming season.
